Staff and Directors

A Board of elected and appointed Directors oversees a VA Soil & Water Conservation District, with the numbers varying among specific districts.

The Northern Neck Soil & Water Conservation District (NNSWCD) has ten Directors and four nonvoting Associate Directors. Of the Directors, eight are elected, two from each of the four counties, and two Directors are appointed. One of the appointed Directors must be a Virginia Cooperative Extension agent.

The Board meets monthly to conduct and oversee District business. These meetings are public and the Board encourages attendance by sending meeting notices to local newspapers. Meetings are held the second Wednesday of each month.
